Energy Media Group is actively seeking a Tech Support Specialist. An ideal candidate keeps up-to-date on system information changes and updates, can setup hardware and software, and can diagnose and resolve issues with Internet connectivity, username and password problems, email accounts, VOIP, PC and Mac hardware and software and more. The Tech Support Specialist will also be responsible for communicating technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner. We are looking for the kind of person who thrives in a startup environment – one who loves taking responsibility for their work, understanding and solving problems and can support teammates as necessary. While passion for troubleshooting is a must, this position entails so much more. There’s never a dull day at EMG.

Duties may include but are not limited to :

  • Support the EMG team’s daily operations; monitor, diagnose and resolve technical Internet and PC and Mac hardware and software issues
  • Track and process tech support tickets using Jira Service Desk
  • Setup and maintain user accounts for computers and software services
  • Maintain in-house server functions
  • Monitor and upgrade EMG WordPress websites

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Advanced critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently, managing deadlines
  • WordPress Proficiency preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Customer service-minded attitude

Content Writer/Website Manager

Energy Media Group is actively seeking a Content Writer and Website Manager. An ideal candidate can create a variety of types of writing, including but not limited to news stories, personal profiles, ad copy, website copy, and researched news stories. The content writer will also manage one of EMG’s six proprietary websites and add appropriate and engaging content to the site. We are looking for the kind of person who thrives in a startup environment – one who loves taking responsibility for their work, understanding and solving problems and can support teammates as necessary. While passion for writing is a must, this position entails so much more. There’s never a dull day in the content room at EMG.

Duties may include but are not limited to :

  • managing daily posting of blog content to one or more of EMG’s websites
  • daily writing short news stories to fill in news gaps in aggregated content
  • monitoring and analyzing website traffic
  • posting 4-6 stories per day to social media
  • composing in-depth, researched editorial content
  • writing native content, ad copy, website copy, and press releases for clients

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, or related field preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
